We'll need to make some updates to the security page for Fx4. The design isn't
complete yet (see bug 626664 for details), but I wanted to go ahead and get
this in the queue.

Marking as release 1.4, which is currently the one slated for Fx4 content
(although that's subject to change).
Summary: build Fx4 security page → [Fx4Launch] build Fx4 security page
Hey Steven. Here are the files for the security page:

JPG:
http://intothefuzz.com/leetom/Mozilla.com/JPG/security_01.jpg

PSD:
http://intothefuzz.com/leetom/Mozilla.com/PSD/security_01.psd

Notes:
- this design incorporates the new header from bug 619986. The header will go live before this page does, fwiw.
- we will likely still have a few copy changes, but nothing that will affect the overall layout. Will post those here as soon as I have them.
- the only main visual change besides the header is some cleanup to the area around the icons (no more surfer guy, mainly).

Thanks!
Depends on: 619986

Updated copy attached...changes in red. Let me know if you have questions.

Thanks!

The highlighted changes are a huge help, thanks. The page has a bunch of new "Learn how." links - where will they be pointing? SUMO?
SUMO is right. Grace, could you offer guidance on what the specific links should be?
Page updated (except for the SUMO links) in the firefox4 branch in r82394. Further fixes/updates in r82409.

Just need those links and we should be ready for QA.
Awesome! Grace, please pass along those links when you have 'em.
John, you might have noticed that the right column in the Protect Your Privacy section is now running a bit long with five sub-sections. We may have to adjust the layout accordingly.
Sorry to keep asking this, but what's the link?

Until we get Bug 629600, you can preview on our development server at http://mozilla-com-firefox4.silverorange.com/en-US/firefox/security/
Agreed that the five items in the privacy section is awkward...my personal preference would be to have four in there. What did you have in mind for layout changes, though? It seems not great, but probably ok, as is.
Links added in r82416.

We'd have to re-organize the layout of that section - columns or something. Don't have anything in particular in mind.
I played around with placing the Private Browsing blurb in the same (middle) column as the screeshot, but in the end - I don't think it's worth breaking the layout convention of the page, just to save 90+ pixels in height. If the other sections start stacking new blurbs and it becomes a problem for more than one of these sections, maybe then we can revisit the layout of the page. I agree with John in comment #10, "It seems not great, but probably ok, as is."
This page is all set, except for the screenshots (Bug 631626) and the two TBD links in Comment #11.

Just keeping the bug open for those two remaining links. If there's a preference, we could close this bug out and file a more specific bug for those remaining links.
Thanks Grace. Links are updated in r82888.

With separate bugs for the icons and screenshots, we can close this one out.

For locales other than English, our current security page redirects to http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/security/

Will this be the case for this new version?

That's really a question for Pascal and depends on what the localizers can get done in time for launch. My take is that even if we don't localize this version of the page for Fx4 launch day, we should still make it a point to update it before too long...the new page has more current info and should be our primary source of info on the subject.
Footer errors from comment #17 are fixed in the firefox4 branch in r83101 and Pascal will be filing another bug for the l10n stuff.

The "Forget this Site" link does not redirect to the localized article. It should have been http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History#w_how-do-i-remove-a-single-website-from-my-history.
The Do-Not-Track link gives a 404 error for https://support.mozilla.com/kb/do-not-track. It has been renamed in http://support.mozilla.com/kb/how-do-i-stop-websites-tracking-me.
