Opening bug to track design process for the Contributor Engagement group's plan for evolving the Get Involved section on mozilla.org.  There is a planning document at

For Q1 we'd like to have a designer work with us on phase 1 and phase 2.
We just received the first round of the Landing Page design.

What happened to the big list of volunteer opportunities?
The big list of opportunities that is currently at mozilla.org/contribute will just get moved down to a sub-page of the section.  It will be linked to from the nav and possibly the 'Learn more' link in the text.

We're wrapping this up by end of this week or early next.

I opened this bug as a more general Get Involved section design bug -- if it would be easier to track, I can close this and open a new bug for each specific Get Involved page we want to design.

We've asked Monique to make a couple small tweaks here (such as providing a couple more background images to use for different types of promos) but that page is almost fully wrapped up.

Cool! I did find a possible typo though...the photo caption reads "A Firefox at Fan Expo in Toronto". Feels like the word 'fan' is missing after Firefox.
I'm fine adding fan in the caption.  Is having fan twice in there repetitive though?  Have any good synonym suggestions?
Update on this bug:

Re comment #7 and #8, we've replaced the rotating images with a video so the captions are no longer an issue.

Re comment #6, Monique is still planning on tweaking the landing page design with a new callout graphic for the line below the video and on creating a couple additional background images to use for the promos.
