After downloading the java plugin from the netscape site and installing it
mozilla stops before loading with the following message:

Error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not read ack from browser
System error?:: Resource temporarily unavailable

Removing the plugin in the plugin dir. solved the problem.
Don't know or it's mozilla related or the plugin itself.

One note:
I've downloaded the plugin with caitoo and placed together with the html
downloadpage in one dir. and edited the html page manualy to fit the jre-xpi
path to my needs.

Reporter, which mozilla build are you using and where exactly did you get the
plugin?  Java works fine for me with any recent nightly and jre.xpi from
ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape6/english/6.0/unix/linux22/xpi/jre.xpi
