Details
In bug 625867, zandr indicates that nagios somehow caches IP addresses for its PING checks, and that those are not expired at all. I don't know if it's possible to flush this cache, but that would be great. The particular machine we have trouble with is linux-ix-slave08.build. Thanks!

The short version is that nagios does all the DNS lookups when you compile the configs, so you need to do a recompile if stuff moves. We just did this, please mark fixed if that sorts out slave08, or reset the assignee to default if not... with a bit more detail on exactly what you're seeing.

I was seeing linux-ix-slave08 continually failing PING even though it was up - bug 625867 - but it seems fine now!
