I did not install java plugin during installation

Steps:
1 Go to java.sun.com
2 Click the puzzle icon to download plugin
3 Click on "Java plugin for windows'
4 Observe that nothing happens and the download does not proceed.

This problem was logged earlier and fixed too but I see it again.

I checked the code from trunk days ago and I could not see this problem. The
browser does not stuck forever and after install, I saw a window pop up and say
it install successfully. Can someone confirn this?
I think Bug#: 62725 duplicates Bug#: 56660.

Shrir:
I checked the code from trunk yesterday and it works for me. I think after
installation, we need to copy the NP*.dll from JRE/bin directory manually to
the plugins directory and I think that is the only problem I can see. I would
like to suggest we should do this process transparent to the user.
  I can reproduce this today.
I think Netscape ftp server runs very slow sometimes. After I tried several
times, it can work now. As I said, the only problem here is autoregistration of
plugin does not work. Then this bug can be marked as duplicate of 66840.
I'm having a similar (possibly the same) prob where d/ling the linux java plugin
fails. It seems to stick on the resolving of the ftp.netscape.com hostname,
although I can ftp to the site directly and pull the file down.
sry- this is with Mozilla 0.8.
I have the same problem on Linux. I have tried many, many times with both the
RPMs (mozilla-0.8-0.i386.rpm) and the binary installer
(mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-0.6-installer.tar.gz) but the has never worked. I
even tried manually downloading the jre.xpi file from ftp.netscape.com and then
using a "file:///" URL but it still just hangs.
Works without a problem with build 2001012305 on linux.
Maybe fixed now?

/Richard
Anyone can confirm with downlaoding plugins in windows? Because it works for
me always.
Seems to work with "nightly build" dated 26 February (thanks Richard!):

name: mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gz
size: 11256261 bytes
md5sum: 963a07a07b5b573876bc91662e1d911b
The JVM looks sweet! Seems to work now, with 2001022714, though someone might
want a faq line to remind people to be root to install this. (This build seems
to have other more general connection probs, unfortunately. The VM also does
strange shading things to the browser occassionally) thanks, Jeff
I can not see this bug either. I would like to change the status to FIXED.
Reopen if any problem happen.
