In the meantime people could use something like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tabsubmit/ and middle click the cancel/rebuild buttons, which makes it a little less tedious.

This is a big improvement, but it actually triggers the popup blocker after you do it enough times! Even after I told the popup blocker not to block build.mozilla.org, it still blocked the popups after I opened a lot more, for whatever reason.

there are enough workarounds for this, I don't think it needs to be in the main API
