Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.76 [en] (WinNT; U)
BuildID: 2000121304 (but also with 0.6)

When I try to open a connection to the netscape secure
news server (or any secure Web site, actually), I see
the dialog box: "psm.exe - Application Error" with
content:
"The instruction at "0x0048c1e6" referenced memory at
"0x00928000". The memory could not be "written".

After I hit OK to terminate the application, Mozilla
starts using 100% cpu - but is still active, but very
slow.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to snews://secnews.netscape.com or any https://...
site.

Actual Results:
I see the above-mentioend error message.

Expected Results:
Show the page or the subscribed newsgroups (in the case
of the secnews site.)

It just started doing this when the nightlies grew to
14Meg+ (they used to be around 9Meg.) Someone in the
mozilla newsgroups said that PSM is now being
integrated - so, the error makes some sense, I guess.
But when I tried to "backup" to the Mozilla 0.6
release in order to get access to the secnews groups,
I found that the problem persisted :-(

Yep unfortunately, the integration fails for some reason. :(
