This is a weird one. Doesn't do anything offensive, just the sidebar seems to
want some attention.
Doesn't happen every time, in fact happens rarely, but has happened several
times during the process of navigating around bugzilla.
What actually happens:
1) Visit the query page and generate a list then I hit the 'back' button.
2) Query page comes back up without problem.
3) But sidebar expands/pops out.
Build: 2000121204 OS: Win98
Additional info:
Just noticed that the default sidebar tab is 'search' and that within the search
box is a list of all the bugzilla bugs that were on the screen when I hit the
back button. I was on a list of bugs, went back to the query page. Can mozilla
transfer this bug list to the sidebar search tab????

Sorry.. just been pointed to Edit|Preferences|Navigator|Internet Search
Open sidebar if results are available. This was checked. So not a bug, just
behaviour I didn't know about.

This is not a duplicate. I had the sidebar on, just minimised. ANd I had the
option to use sidebar for displaying searches switched on.
I was just unaware of this behaviour. So it's not actually a bug unless the
sidebar is not supposed to pop out.
Hence if in this mode sidebar should only display searches _when sidebar is
expanded_ then it is a bug.
But bug 56969 refers to when sidebar is disabled. Different. So I'm re-
opening.. and suggesting it is labeled new if this is actually a new bug, or
invalid if (as believe) I was being stupid when posting it in the first place.

agreed that 56969 mentions keeping the sidebar OFF and doing the steps. *But*, I
see the same behaviour when the sidebar is minimized. Also, the pref to show
search results in sidebar is ON by default. So, you choose...Invalid/Duplicate ?

I don't think it makes a difference whether the sidebar was minimized or closed.
The point is, it opened/expanded when you weren't expecting it to. Surprises are
bad. That's what bug 56969 is about.

Well I guess it depends how you define it. Knowing what I do now I don't
consider it a bug.
However then again you are right.. it's set that way by default.. and causes
confusion... and could be disabled by default or better explained in some
obvious way.
While I still don't think it's a dupe.. i suppose the best place for the matter
of this behaviour to be dealt is there... so I correct myself yet again and
agree it should be a dupe.
p.s. wanna verify it quick before I change my mind again :)
