Content coming as soon as possible. We should also think about renaming this one ('underthehood' in the URL no longer works as well).
Summary: build Fx4 performance page → [Fx4Launch] build Fx4 performance page
Hi Steven. Files for this are now ready to go:
http://mozilla.seanmartell.com/engagement/mocodotcom/FINALS/performance.psd

Please note that the FPO elements will be coming later, but this should be enough to start with.
Target Milestone: 1.4 → 1.3
I've noticed that this page has the double-arrow (the "»" character, rotated 90°) below the blue circle icons on this page, but this character seems to have been dropped from the similar icons on other pages for the Firefox4 update. Is this intentional?
Sean, can you answer the question in comment #2?
Yessir.

New markers are being created so the rotated chevron can be axed!
Do the videos for this page exist yet? If so, which are they?

I don't think they do. Grace, can you elaborate on availability/timing?
This page is setup in the firefox4 branch with the following caveats:
 * The three round blue icons at the top are just placeholders - still waiting on the final icons from the design team
 * The videos are placeholders (see comments #5 and #6)
 * The bar graphs have the numbers from the PSD, but I presume the numbers will change with the final release (or at least the RC). I'll size the bars when we have final numbers.

Any estimates on when the icons and videos will be ready? After QA, we could close this and open fine-grained bugs for those remaining issues.
Also updated the page title and changed the URL from /firefox/underthehood/ to /firefox/performance/ and added a redirect to bounce from the old URL to the new.

Updated in firefox4 branch in r82599 and r82600.

Sorry to keep asking, but do you mind posting the link to the right staging site? Thanks for accommodating my occasional slowness.

Thanks!

Sure - I've updated the URL field on the bug (http://www-fx4.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/performance/) - however, it looks like the CSS isn't updated yet, so the page looks broken - might take a few more minutes.
Looks like a bug in the firefox4 stage site is causing CSS/JS/images to load from trunk (updated bug 629600).
Bug 629600 is fixed (thanks oremj). This page is ready for review/qa.

John, can you address the questions in comment #7 as well? Thanks.
Re: the icons, those are going to come in at the last minute - looking like the first week of March (before code freeze, though).

Re: the videos, I'm not sure. Grace, can you give an update?

- no the video for this page doesn't exist yet. earliest availability is 28th? is that going to be okay?
Status update here: This page is waiting on:

1. Updated icons for the blue circles in the main feature (not sure if there's a design bug for those)
2. Both videos (are there bugs for those?)
3. Final performance numbers - I might file a separate bug for all performance charts for Fx4

If we can confirm that we've got bugs filed for these issues, we can close this out.
Depends on: 634970
Update: filed Bug 626662 for the performance chart - now it's just the icons and videos that remain.
Page looks good, thanks Steven. I'll file separate bugs for the blue icons and the videos.
Added dependencies on video (Bug 635100) and icon (Bug 635096) bugs.

I'm not sure how QA should approach these. QA now and re-review when the final icons/videos/chart-numbers are in place, or wait and review all at once? Might be good to do an initial review now to allow time to fix any issues.

It's up to Raymond and his schedule, but I'd prefer to do the general QA now to make sure we're not missing anything big, then do a quick check later when the specific additions are made.
hi guys! quick update, we won't have a video for speed (making the web faster) and hardware acceleration. However, my recommendation for the current placeholder for the hardware acceleration portion is putting a screencast of one of our demos.

Will work on getting the appropriate demo for the 2nd video and keep you posted with the progress.

thanks for your patience.
Grace, is the screencast you're recommending as a placeholder available to be posted instead?
Update on this from Grace - we'll need to remove both video placeholders since the videos aren't going to be created. She'll provide other details.

I presume we'll be adding images to replace these videos then? Let me know what images as soon as possible, please.
Steven: can we get a screenshot of this http://webglsamples.googlecode.com/hg/aquarium/aquarium.html to replace the video under the hardware acceleration section. please take the screenshot in a windows machine. the higher FPS the better (closest to 60 as we can get) ;)

Dan will also provide a little blurb to explain the screenshot.

Let's take out the video under making the web faster for now. and we can revisit after launch ;)

thanks!

Yup - That should look quite nice on the site.

Will this text accompany the screenshot? When can we expect this?

This page layout relies on some kind of visual content there. Is there another screenshot we might be able to use?

Sean is working on an alternate graphic...should have that later this afternoon.
Hey Stephen. Here's an image you can use to replace the page performance video. Let me know if it causes you any trouble.

Thanks!
Here's an 8 bit version just in case file size is an issue with the other one.
The two videos have been replaced with the requested images in r85151.
