I wanted to sync my Firefox (all except passwords) on Ubuntu 10.10/64 bit machine. (I set and use my sync in Ubuntu 10.10/32 and Windows XP too.)
I set everything, sync profile is connected and got the good key. Every time I would like to sync I got this error:
Sync encountered an error while syncing; Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action.

I think it is not so informative. I disconnected account, connected again, but got same warning.

How can I doebug the problem? Is it possible to get more detailed informationa bout this problem?

1. Set up sync
2. Then sync

Sync encountered an error while syncing; Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action. Message, sync.

Expected Results:  
Sync happened

To help with debugging can you create a new boolean pref called services.sync.log.appender.debugLog.enabled and set it to true. Once done reproduce the error and then attach the about:sync-log as a text file to this bug. Thanks.

I've been having this problem about a week, Firefox 3.6.4 and 4.0b9, WinXP and Win7. I've attached the sync log requested in the previous comment.

Thanks! Looks like one of bug 609380, bug 621024 and the likes. I'm going to randomly pick bug 621024 to dupe it to. We really need to make sure that the password engine doesn't apply those broken records.
