User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13 In the example URL I searched for the extension "Breadcrumb": https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=Breadcrumb I got another extension called "Breadcrumbs", but it's not the one. The right add-on wasn't displayed at all: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/breadcrumb/ Now, here is another search for the extension "Flags": https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=flags Again the correct extension is not shown: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flags/ And a third example: searching "Multiproxy Switch" https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=Multiproxy+Switch Again no luck. But the extension exists and here it is: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multiproxy-switch/ Those three are only few of favorite add-ons I still use on Firefox 3.6 but are not displayed anymore when searching the site. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Search for Multiproxy Switch, Flags, or Breadcrumb: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=Multiproxy+Switch https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=flags https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=Breadcrumb Actual Results: You'll get other less relevant extensions, but the right ones are not shown. Expected Results: Links to their pages: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multiproxy-switch/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flags/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/breadcrumb/ In the past you could enable Sandbox view and see all extensions. Now you simply loose many great forgotten extensions that still works.
They're all unreviewed, and the change to make them not show up in search was intentional, but I'll let a developer or product person comment and mark, as appropriate.
As stephend said, unreviewed add-ons are not indexed by our search by design. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/developers/docs/policies/reviews

It seems to me people should have the ability to choose if to see those add-ons, like in the Sandbox days. All the examples I gave are good old extensions that were automatically excluded by the new system, to the loss of all Firefox users. I use them regularly and sorry for their untimely excommunication.
