After a discussion with John and Stormy, we have decided to keep the name "Mozilla Developer Network" and focus our efforts on "rebranding" the site and our programs with a new wordmark and logo that fits better with the Mozilla family of logos. Here is a brief summary of what we are thinking about doing: - Modify the wordmark and website title to use the "mozilla" wordmark + "Developer Network" in the same style/layout as we do for "mozilla Firefox" (eg. http://mozcom-cdn.mozilla.net/img/covehead/about/logo/download/mozilla-wordmark-preview.png). We can use the Metabold font for "mozilla" and keep the "Bebas Neue" font for "Developer Network" to be consistent with the overall MDN website design. - Design a new logo that either evolves the current robo-dino or uses a new animal or object(s) to create something that follows the same "sphere + wrap around" approach as our Firefox and Thunderbird logos. We obviously will discuss this in more detail and brainstorm together, but I wanted to get a bug filed and per John, ask Sean Martell to help us start the design process. Our goal is to have this new branding ready to integrate into the MDN website for a release in Q2 that will include an improved Demo Gallery and a new Discussions page/app for web developers.
