mozilla logo animation eats up to 50-60% CPU while connecting to any site.
Disabling toolbar with logo fixes this problem
Thanks for reporting this Dmitry, by the way, what build did this occur on
(Build id in the top bar.)
Also if you could try this in a more recent build, and let us know if the
problem is still present, that'd be great.
Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; m18) Gecko/20001213

I'm using modern theme.
Reporter is this still a problem in the latest nightlies?
Still a problem on 2001-01-04
Marking NEW as per comments.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Also animated GIFS are displayed incorrectly in OS/2 build.

Check www.thief-thecircle.com small gifs which are under every news post are
played incorrectly! Using latest EMX build.
Isn't this a dup of bug #44588 (Animated GIF's Animate Very Slowly)?
Using 2001-04-23 build with libpr0n enabled - same problem.
logo animation eats 30% CPU on P-III/600

Its not a dup.
*** Bug 116026 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
This isn't specific to the Mozilla logo. See bug report #116026 which I just
filed; the more animation you have on a page, the higher CPU utilization is.
Meaning that this is a bug in any GIF animation, not specifically the Mozilla
logo. Some sites are completely unusable (try www.canada.com). Please consider
upgrading the issue priority to P2.

is this still an issue?
I personally consider this issue closed. CPU usage is "decent" now..
Per reporter, this is working OK now.
