dialog boxes open and hidden behind firefox window can't be accessed (yahoo opens one on its own).  Closing with taskmanager says: firefox waiting for user response, however I can not get the dialog box where I can respond so Firefox is hung.  
Have not tried to reproduce.  Happened yesterday and today, and other times in the past but not very often.
This is on a laptop with one screen open at this time.  I do go between home with one external monitor, and work with two external monitors.

Expected Results:  
dialogs never be buried and inaccessable.  maybe necessary to list them with the main processes, perhaps with a different label to indicate response needed.

Yahoo chat/IM (which I do not use but have not tried to eliminate) opens dialog boxes saying "logged off because you logged on to a different computer"  These can be buried and are opened when I am somewhere else (maybe 100 miles from the computer}.  These windows are the ones that cause me problems, but assume any window buried behind firefox windows (have two windows with 10-30 open tabs each).
No crash message since firefox is waiting for input which seems impossible for me to give.
Rated CRITICAL since this will cause me to stop using firefox if it continues.

Is your Issue reproducible Extension-less in Safe-Mode and/or using a new Profile?

Is the Changing on Usage of the external Monitors the Trigger?

I have not attempted to replicate.  The key part is that firefox dialog boxes become hidden behind firefox main window and can not be accessed.  Sometimes I can see the edge of the box but can not get it on top.

I switch monitor setups multiple times per day, but the issue occurs in frequently in general, once per week - ish.  Happened twice in two days so I'm willing to put some effort in.  Switching between home no-dock, work w/dock 2monitors, meeting with laptop on battery and no external monitor happens every day a few times.  Have not set up the scenario... I had not thought about it very hard.   I close the dialogs as soon as I see them, so they have to sneak.

Requirements for the problem seem to be: 
-dialog window appears and is not closed immediately (perhaps it appears behind other windows or is quickly superseded as during a restore of tabs.  
-moving to a different monitor with different screen size may cause previously visible dialogs to become hidden. 


-I typically have two firefox main windows open, this may be part of the problem.  In the past I notice the annoying yahoo dialogs were buried but was able to get to them.

I don't know what the safe mode and profiles entail, what I might lose form my present configuration etc.  Since it is not replicate-able I'm not willing to go there at this time.

I will pay attention more.  But probably to close the dialogs and avoid working in the full screen mode so I can see the pop-ups.  I have other causes that I volunteer my time/effort rather than Mozilla (sorry).

Additionally, does it happen in FF 4?
And, a screen shot may be helpful
