The “fadein/fadeout” effect to display the preview url on hovering links can be really annoying.

On previous Firefox versions, I used to look directly on the status bar, while my cursor moves hover on multiple links. This way, I could see immediately where they points to.

Now I can’t do this, because if I move too quickly, the link is not displayed at all. Even in simple situations (just checking the URL of a link), I need to check twice to be sure that my cursor is on the right link, and the adress bar is not displaying a previously hovered link.

I know Mozilla worked a lot on the “perceived speed”. This could be an simple optimisation in that direction.

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
The animation is too long, and takes too long to start.

Expected Results:
Start immediatly, and accelerate, or completely remove the animation. Speed!
Severity: normal → enhancement
I believe this is not an issue due to bug 628654. Please reopen if this is incorrect.
