AIUI any version of Flash 10.1 should work with Firefox running in 64-bit mode as it uses the Cocoa NPAPI model. However, after upgrading my wife's computer from Firefox 3.6.latest to Firefox 4 Beta 10 I noticed that Flash content was not being rendered.

After verifying that Flash was up to date (via PluginCheck) I re-installed it just to be sure. Still nothing. I verified that the plugin was enabled, and then eventually set Firefox to run in 32-bit mode ... at that point, Flash began to work.

That last line is concerning to me since it says "no" next to "64-bit", but if for some reason the OS isn't running in 64-bit mode, then I'd expect Firefox wouldn't be either, right?

FWIW, same version of Flash WFM on nightlies, though I'm running 10.6.5 because I'm too lazy to reboot for the upgrade. (Oddly Kernel version is Darwin 10.5.0, but 64-bit Kernel is also No). Activity Manager says Minefield is a 64bit app (is there a better way to check?). Only obvious difference is that GPU acceleration is on for me.
cc'ing the graphics guys on a lark, but I think that's a red herring ...

64-bit Minefield + 32-bit Cocoa Flash works on my OSX 10.6.6 machine at work, but it's a newer MacBook (unibody 13") whereas the machine Dawn uses is a MacBook White Core 2 Duo (the last of the white lucite models, I think?) ... not sure if that should make a difference.
Dolske: note: very unhelpfully, Darwin version 10 = OS X version 10.6. So Darwin 10.6 = OS X 10.6.6, and so on.

By default, OS X 10.6 runs a 32-bit kernel and a 64-bit userland, so that's normal.
Josh: any ideas? I'll be in Mountain View this week, but might be able to do some remote administration and debugging. Presently I have her set to run in 32-bit mode all the time, which isn't the greatest (yet she still notices the speedup from 3.6!)
Can you send me the pluginreg.dat file from profile with which you're reproducing this? You can scan it for confidential information and if there isn't any (I doubt there will be) you could just post it on this bug.

Also, can you try to repro with a clean profile? Don't delete the old one since we may need it for debugging this.
Blocking for now, we need to check input.mozilla.org data to see if Flash not working on macs is a common issue.

I just scrolled through a fair bit of B10 input.mozilla.com data and did not see any complaints re: flash not working. The majority of the complaints related to flash crashing.
Mike - can you post the GPU type on the affected machine? Intel GMA9xx or GMAX31xx GPUs may cause this problem.
I looked up the specs for the MacBook2,1 model and it has GMA9xx graphics. Duping this bug against bug 610526.

Sorry to not respond here - was trying to get remote admin of my wife's computer from across the country, harder than I thought when I didn't have a mac with me. Glad to see that it was moot, anyway!
