Out of all the nfs requests on netapp-b, about 70% comes from the pm-app-personas servers. Its causing grief for a bunch of other projects using the netapp. lsof on the personas webheads shows a bunch of open files (like /mnt/netapp/personas/server/locale/pl/LC_MESSAGES/messages.mo) from apache. Can we maybe sync this stuff to local disk and serve it out of there or something like that?

Discussed with oremj and he proposes to take a majority of the app to local disk and keeping stats and pending directories on the netapp.

Few minutes early, but I figured out how to do this without taking down the site.

Unfortunately, even after this change was made, the NFS share that aus2-staging mounts (10.253.0.11:/vol/aus2) is no faster. I re-ran a "backupsnip" (which is essentially a selective rsync of some of /opt/aus2/incoming/3), and it actually ran *slower* than last week (5min vs 8min). Did the netapp load noticeably change after this move was done?
