User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_6; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/8.0.552.237 Safari/534.10
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101207 Thunderbird/3.1.7
When I print a message from Thunderbird running on OS X 10.6.6, the output is a completely black page. Text is unreadable unless it is in a color other than black. This happens only when using the printer queue served by a local CUPS server. Using a Mac specific driver for the printer and printing via an LPD connection does not cause this error.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open message
2.Print message using queue provided by CUPS server
Actual Results:
Entire page prints as a completely black background, only colored text can be seen
Expected Results:
Print the message on a white background so that black text is readable.
Moving to Printing component. Do you see the same effect with other Mozilla applications (Firefox, SeaMonkey, etc.), or any other non-Mozilla application, or is it restricted to Thunderbird. This might narrow down whether it's an issue with specific Thunderbird settings or a general problem of the backend interaction with the CUPS system.

I haven't tried SeaMonkey, but it also happens in Firefox, although it's much more inconsistent. Sometimes Firefox prints just fine, other times it also prints the black pages. With Thunderbird, it happens consistently every single print job.

I (and some people on support.mozilla.org) get black images printing to CUPS-PDF in Linux from Firefox and SeaMonkey. More precisely text appears fine, but images are black in most PDF previewers (Adobe Reader, Inkscape preview) while appearing fine in others (Foxit Reader, Okular). I filed bug 680639, perhaps yours is the same problem. Try printing to a PDF file and then previewing it in a variety of programs.

Honestly, it has been many moons since I remember having this problem. I don't remember if I ever found a fix for it, but it's irrelevant now, so this report can be closed.
Ok, resolving WFM per comment #5. Thanks!
