User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b11) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b11
Build Identifier: Firefox 4b11

When clicking the text area on the specified page, after a couple seconds idle on the page, the entire window will turn black for a couple seconds. With direct2d disabled, only the text area will turn black. The window will also turn black as I leave the page as well.

I've tracked the issue down to only happening with NoScript.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit URL
2. Scroll to bottom of page, wait a couple seconds
3. Click textarea
Actual Results:
Window or box will turn black for a couple seconds

Expected Results:
Area appears without any hiccups

The specific system is an i7 860 with a GTX 470. My specific video drivers are NVidia's 266.58 (WHQL).

The NoScript interaction is weird. Do you have scripts blocked or enabled on that page?
I wasn't able to reproduce this trivially.

Can't block on unconfirmed bug on non-supported platform (win64).

This isn't on win64, Shaver.

Does this still happen with the latest nightly builds (http://nightly.mozilla.org - get win32, not win64)? Your driver is just old enough that we now block it by default.

If it does, can you put the Graphics section of about:support into this bug?

Minusing unless it still happens in nightlies.
I'm still able to reproduce the issue on the nightly build. My suspicion is that it might be a driver issue specific to the 400 series.

I got a friend to reproduce the black area issue with a Nvidia GTX 570 in a different system, with the same software (Firefox nightly 32-bit, NoScript). NoScript configured to only allow nvidia.com.

Would it be helpful to capture a stack trace during the lock up?
Alright I looked into it and it appears the issue was NoScript's ABE functionality. When the text area was clicked, it brought up a whole control panel with images, one of the hosts was "hqnveipbwb20" which wasn't resolving quickly. NoScript was doing a blocking DNS query during the CSS restyle call, which likely explains why it turned black.

[ABE] Waiting for DNS query on hqnveipbwb20
[ABE] DNS query on hqnveipbwb20 done, 2250ms
