Would save the trouble of installing
Would automatically let users have the latest version
Google Chrome already does it

I and others have been down this road many times before without success due to licensing issues, etc. I just closed a similar bug from 2004 yesterday due to lack of progress for example.

Moving over to Firefox General so that the details can be worked out regarding getting the licensing, etc. worked out. At a minimum, until that is worked out then an installer bug isn't appropriate since there is nothing that can be done to the installer to make this happen.
