Build Identifier:

Description:
When a user logs in he loses the generic dashboard on the main page

Reproducible: Always

Steps to reproduce:
0. Log out if your already logged into the site.
1. Go to the main page you can see a generic dashboard with an activity stream for the site as a whole and the "Planet Drumbeat" atom feed [Nice]
2. Click on the "SIGN IN" link on the navigation bar this takes you to the "Sign In" page.
3. On the "Sign In" page enter your Username / Password in the text fields provided and click on the "Sign in" button you will then be taken back to main page but the main page now shows a dashboard for your profile

Expected Results:
The site should have a generic dashboard with an activity stream for the site as a whole and a "Planet Drumbeat" atom feed , .. which is visible for both anonymous / authenticated users

Actual Results:
When you log into the site you lose the generic dashboard and in its place is a profile specific dashboard

Proposed solution:
Have a generic dashboard on the main page and either merge the profile specific dashboard with the users profile page (preference) or have the profile specific dashboard at a location other than the main page

Best,
Paul Booker

This is an intentional difference. Your dashboard is for information that is generated by your specific social network. The unauthenticated splash page is to give people an idea of what is going on in the site.

We'll be tweaking the way that these news feeds are generated, but we will not merge the two.
