User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b11) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b11 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b11) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b11 Since I've upgraded to Firefox 4, when I've enabled "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup", Firefox complains as soon as I associate a local .html files with my preferred editor. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Ensure "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup" is checked 2. exit Firefox 3. Right click a local .html file, "open with", choose your preferred editor and check "always open with this application" 4. Double click on .html file opens it in preferred editor 5. Start Firefox Actual Results: I get the popup "Firefox is not currently set as your default browser. Would you like to make it your default browser?" Expected Results: I do not get the popup at all. In the past, on XP with FF3, FF was my default browser however I used another default application to open local .html files (mostly to edit them, as I'm a web developer). Now this changed and my default browser suddenly gets my default local .html file opener too, which I don't want. Firefox should only concentrate on being the default browser when application request to open links, but not when opening local files.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b12pre) Gecko/20110209 Firefox/4.0b12pre Able to reproduce.
