Seen while running Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b12pre) Gecko/20110210 Firefox/4.0b12pre STR: 1. Load a youtube or vimeo video 2. Press the full screen button Expected: See the video in full screen Actual: I see a black screen Flash Version: 10.2.152.26 Will check to see what happens on 3.6.x on the same machine.
Does it work with Flash 10.1 on the same machine?
Full screen works fine with the same videos using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13. Using Flash Version: 10.1.102.64 I can see the videos in full screen on the same machine using the build in Comment O.
I have similar settings, but I do not get this issue. May be driver problem? I can reproduce this on the latest Minefield using Flash 10.2.152.26. I am not able to reproduce. using flash 10.1.53.64 i can watch videos in full screen. After updating to flash player 10.2.152.26 I am still able to watch full screen videos. I have been updating video drivers and have the following versions of the drivers: Intel driver version 8.15.10.2279 Nvidia driver version (inactive when running firefox) 266.58 I can paste in about:support's graphics section if desired.
My Intel driver version is 8.15.10.2226. The Intel Driver Update Utility indicates I cannot update the driver - so my question is how did you update yours?
Marcia, we may have different Adapter, here Intel Driver Update Utility claims that latest driver is 15.21.8.64.2279 (8.15.10.2279). Anyway you can try downloading it manually: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/
Preemptively relnoting this. After installing the drivers from the site in comment #8, which are not easy to find, I was able to play videos in youtube, toggling fullscreen and normal size with no problems. I did see the problem once, and it may have happened while fullscreening during the introductory commercial in one of the videos (youtube.com/watch?v=mqqLoUcLX5I). When that happened, nothing showed in video, only the sound.

Sounds like we need to block this particular intel driver. Blocking the release on that, but I'm not sure how we typically deal with issues like this. Beltzner, feel free to set me straight here.

jst, why do you think blocking the driver will help? AFAIK you'd need to add it to the Flash blocklist, not our D3D blocklist. Marcia or others, if you have the broken drivers but turn of Firefox acceleration (layers.acceleration.disabled) do you still see the problem?
I turned off hardware acceleration on my Alienware laptop using the pref in preferences. After restarting I could see youtube videos in full screen. When I turned the hardware acceleration pref back on, I could still see you tube videos in full screen. Pretty strange.
I'm not going to block on this.

Full screen needs two seconds to display image (no problem I think). layers.acceleration.disabled = true Embedded video flicker between a first image and black screen every time when I move the cursor inside of video or click to play. The image also does not display correctly after playing the video e only sound seems synchronized correctly. Full screen needs two seconds to display image too. But I do not get any problem as related to embedded. The image display correctly. YouTube is just fine with layers acceleration enabled or disabled.
The latest Intel drivers for HD Graphics(Clarkdale & Arrandale) and HD Graphics 2000/3000(Sandy Bridge) is 8.15.10.2279.
