In the all new interface, Polish national characters are not proper displayed.
These characters should have special design:
ą Ć ć ę Ł ł ń Ó ó Ś ś Ż ż Ź ż

The same problem was with Open to Choice project.
These characters should have special design:
Ą ą Ć ć Ę ę Ł ł Ń ń Ó ó Ś ś Ż ż Ź ż
What about this bug? How long will be waiting for resolve? This is very important. League Gothic MUST have national characters. Go to https://developer-stage9.mozilla.org/pl/ and pay attention for all reported characters.

Craig or Chowse, how's it going on the international font issue? Are we close to one? Should we try this for 0.9.5 or something?

League Gothic doesn't include these characters so they render in a fallback font that doesn't match League's style at all. It's readable, but really ugly. Bebas Neue is a close match to League Gothic, and it has a much broader character set (including the characters in question), but it brings the new problem of wildly different baselines on Mac and Windows. That's why we had to abandon Bebas previously.

I'll revisit Bebas and try to sort out its cross-platform weirdness but it's too late to get it into 0.9.4. And there's still no guarantee Bebas will work in the end so we may have to find some other workaround or find yet another font. Let's target this for 0.9.5.

Hooray, it looks like an updated version of Bebas Neue has fixed the baseline discrepancies, so (fingers crossed) I think we can finally make the switch.
Switched to Bebas Neue in 0.9.5, now in production.

Not all looks good. See Polish home page and pay attention to "Daj się poznać" on the right lower corner.

The home page was rewritten and redesigned in 0.9.7, introducing a bunch of new strings that haven't yet been translated to Polish so I'm not sure yet if we'll run into the same missing characters.

But working under the assumption that we will, at some point, have Polish strings rendered in Bebas Neue that requires a character that font doesn't provide, the only real solution is to use an alternative font for Polish. In most spots it looks like Bebas Neue handles Polish well enough, so I think we're fine keeping it in the main navigation (the main nav doesn't have a lot of room so the narrow font is pretty important). But there are other places in the body where we can instead fall back to a common system font that has a broader character set.

Leszek, please open other bugs for content with missing or bad characters. We'll fix them on a case-by-case basis or find a new font if it's a widespread problem.
