I have a dual-screen system using nVidia 8800GTX card. I always open two browsers on each of my two monitors. However, while the firefox Beta has been working quite well on my primary screen, it's pull-down menu flicks whenever I click on the right mouse-button on the 2nd screen. Although I can still "feel my way" to get to the right item on the menu, but it is definitely buggy.

I would be very grateful if you can look into it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Have a dual-monitor system
2.open browser on the secondary screen (the one not with the task bar)
3.right click the mouse within the browser and see the pull-down menu flicks
Is your Issue reproducible when you disable the Hardware Acceleration and restart Firefox?
If yes, please post the Content of the Graphics Section you can get via "about:support" after you re-enabled Hardware Acceleration.
Version: unspecified → Trunk
How do I disable the hardware acceleration? Can you give a more detail description of what I am suppose to do? Thanks ....
Hi,

I have exactly the same issue on dual-screen.

So just check with you, has this flickering problem being resolved? if so, can share with me your procedures to resolve it?
Hi,

I too have the same problem, hardware acceleration disabled drastically reduce it.
My configuration is NVIDIA 8400GS with two 1280x1024 screens (wide 2560x1024 desktop), Vista x86, Firefox 4 final, tied with 258.96 and 266.58 (latest) NVIDIA drivers. Test done with a new empty profile (no extension except English dictionary and all plugins disabled).

Important: don't reproduce that bug on another machine with ATI HD4850 with a 1920x1200 (main) and 1920x1080 (second) screens attached (latest drivers) under Win7 x64.

When firefox is on the second screen and hardware acceleration is enabled, when the mouse cursor isn't hovering on a drop-down/menu (main menu, context menus, drop-down boxes of address and search bars...), it almost completely disappear except for the bottom and right side shadows. Sometimes, mouse hovering above the drop-down/menu isn't enough to make it visible (especially the drop-down boxes of the address and search bars, makes them unusable). When the cursor is on a sub-menu, sometimes one or more of its parent(s) or itself disappear. I had a case with 5 hierarchical menu opened (Web development>Characters encoding... but in French, so I'm not sure for the translation), the main menu was visible then the next two children were hidden and the next two were visible. When hardware acceleration is disabled, it's far more difficult to reproduce.
Which windows theme do you use? Glass or Basic or Classic?

Picture of the menu corruption

Take note of the partial corruption of the main menu (top-right portion). The mouse was over Européen de l'Est item. When the cursor was moved over the last sub-menu (Balte...), its direct parent also disappear (Européen de l'Ouest>...).

Mouse cursor was over the Européen de l'Est> element, if moved over the last sub-menu (Balte...), the previuosly hovered one disapeared.

Just made the bug disappear with hardware acceleration activated!
I only switched Vista Basic appearance to Windows Aero: no more bug.
Then I returned to Windows Vista Basic: still no bug!
Restarted FF4, bug strikes back!
Switch again to Aero AND restart FF4: no bug again.
Bug = FF4 started when Vista Basic is already and kept active.
Sorry for the multiple "Take note..." comments above, I misunderstood comments in attachments. Won't do it again.
I seem to have the same problem, but it isn't just the right mouse button. My primary mouse button is the left, and when I pull down any menu on my second screen, the menu flickers. If I guess about where the selected bookmark is, it will come up in the browser, but I can't eliminate the flicker. Using an AMD Radeon HD 6900. Windows 7 with an Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4 GHz CPU

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Have a dual-monitor system
2.open browser on the secondary screen (the one not with the task bar)
3.left click the mouse on any tab to get pulldown menus
4.scroll down menu, and it flickers
Severity: normal → S3
