Oracle has released a new version of Java 1 SE 6: update 24.
Plugin check must be updated to the latest version of Java 6.0.240.

Updated on stage. 1.6.0.24 added as latest version for all platforms, 1.6.0.23 marked as vulnerable, referring to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/javacpufeb2011-304611.html

plugincheck detects   Java Platform SE6 U7 ( 6.0.70.6) as up to date. This is false

Raymond, this bug is not about an incorrect Java plugincheck behavior, so file another bug describing your OS and your Firefox version.

wrt comment #2, this is probably a bug with the version of the plugin detection library we're using with XPCOM java plugins. Note also that we'll be blocklisting all of these shortly for Firefox 3.6 and higher, per bug 634639.

The version is identified correctly at the reference site (http://www.pinlady.net/PluginDetect/JavaDetect.htm) as 1.6.0.7, but our site and ozten's debug site identifies it as 6.0.70.6. I think that's a separate issue, and will file a separate bug and ask Austin to have a look. 

Raymond, for non-XPCOM versions of the Java plugin, is the plugincheck working as expected?
