steps to reproduce: 1. Install a beta version of an add-on 2. Upload a newer beta version for that add-on 3. Tools-> Add-ons. Check for updates. Beta version from #2 is listed as an update. 4. Upload a new version and make it public. 5. Check for updates 6. Delete the beta channel(all the beta versions) and check for updates observed behavior: The same public version is listed twice under Available updates. See screenshot

More than 4 steps to reproduce -> wontfix.

Just kidding. :) Seriously though, this might be in the browser judging from your screenshot. I'd like to know what the XML you're reading from AMO is. Regardless, andym is the master of the update script now. Andym, can you reproduce this?

I wasn't able to, but I will try again tomorrow. My initial hunch was that I couldn't see how it could be a problem at our end and had to be on the browser end of things.

At least our hunches agree! I've never even seen the "available updates" tab, but mossop probably knows who owns it if he doesn't.

Pretty likely to be ours I think, though bug 588867 really should have resolved this

Actually I'm assuming you were testing with something after beta 7, is that true? I can't reproduce it myself right now.

I am testing with Firefox 4.0b11 on MAC and I can consistently reproduce this bug.

Is there a way to reproduce this without having to upload versions to AMO in between? What are the version numbers of the add-ons you're testing with?

Add-on info: - Add-on is https://addons-next.allizom.org/en-US/firefox/addon/esperance-1/ - GUID {9AA46F4F-4EC7-4d06-97AF-5036170634FE} - I am on 3.3.9 alpha(deleted beta version) and when I check for updates, I get 3.3.9(public version) offered twice. If you want to reproduce this bug, I can help with uploading add-on versions.

I believe that this is on the UI side. When it sees a message that a new update is available it's failing to check that it's already displaying that update and so you see it twice. Switching away from then back to available updates should bring it back down to a single entry.
