63562 - Typing a search string into address bar should launch a search

If you type Hello world into the address bar and press enter, Mozilla tries to
connect to www.hello world.com.  If the connection fails, it should launch a
search using the default search engine.  Or maybe it could prompt for a search
or re-enter the address, or even a keyboard short-cut (ALT-Enter, Control-Enter)
would be nice.  What do you guys think?

you get a current build, type a string into the URL bar, press enter and that's it.

I tried this on Win ME build 2000121804 and it doesn't work.  Type in the URL
bar mozilla christmas pet, press enter, get a pop up telling me that www.mozilla
christmas pet.com could not be found, press ok and that's it, no search is launched.
