Developer docs have links to MDC but the locale /en/ is hard-coded. Those links should be localizable.

I don't think you are right. 

1) Visit https://addons.mozilla.org/cs/developers/docs/how-to/getting-started 
2) Try to localize link under "XUL School Tutorial".

You can check different links or different page. The same result.

These are hardcoded to /en/ because the MDN site redirects improperly without the language.  

Works as expected:

  https://developer.mozilla.org/en/XUL_School

Redirects to the front page:

  https://developer.mozilla.org/XUL_School

Please file a bug for MDN to correctly redirect to the requested page after detecting the language and make this bug dependent on it.

The MDN team wontfixed the bug I filed, so I'm going to wontfix this.  Really though, this is a CANTFIX until they fix their end.
