Hello - we're having some trouble with the development environment we have set up at dev.webmademovies.org - could you check that the *.webmademovies.org is resolving correctly? Could you restate how the DNS is working for this server?

Thanks for help
Brett

http://webmademovies.org is also having problems.
OK, this is just weird...

!!! wtf did the Dreamhost record come from?

My local nameserver is forwarding requests to Level3... let's check their nameservers:

mbp:~ dave$ dnstracer -s4.2.2.1 -4 -o dev.webmademovies.org

OK, so Level3 has a messed up nameserver. No idea how that happened or what to do about it.

Yeah, it's been going in and out. Has been for 2 days.

Ah geez - Dave, this domain had once been hosted at Dreamhost. I deleted any hosting record over there. Will this take some hours to move through DNS servers?
We supposedly took it over several weeks ago, and root-level changes are supposed to propagate within 2 days. I've no idea how the Dreamhost record is sneaking back in somewhere. Someone has a faulty cache or something.

K - I'll contact their tech support. Can you send me a message to pass along?
This wouldn't be a Dreamhost issue, more likely Level3 that has the problem (unless there's other nameservers you know of returning intermittent bad info)
Is this still going on at all? Everywhere I test from today seems to be getting the correct answer.
