The addon bar will seemingly disappear and go a way in different paths for no reason. I feel that it should remain visible if the user chooses to enable it in menu and keep it open. Repro: 1) goto builder URL 2) Enable menu > view > Toolbars > Addon Bar (mac) or prefs in windows/linux 3) visit home page, and test an addon 4) Verify toggling Test will remove the Addon Bar from the browser. Expected: - user has enabled the Addon Bar from the menu, so they should keep it visible until they disable it themselves Actual: - Toggling Test button will disable the addon bar. User has to re-enabled it through options and that isnt a good workflow. Keep in mind user may have other addons that are currently being used in addonbar that isnt' jetpack related so hiding that from them is not right.
I can't see how the Builder is at fault for this. All we do is install and uninstall the add-on. Is this a case where the installed Builder add-on is the only one that resides in the bar at the time of removal? If so, I remember Firefox UX team saying that they didn't want to show the bar to users who have no add-ons, perhaps they are failing to realize that the user chose to have the bar open and are closing it simply because there are no longer add-ons left in it?
This is an old SDK bug that has been fixed.
