Description

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b13pre) Gecko/20110223 Firefox/4.0b13pre openinfocard
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b13pre) Gecko/20110223 Firefox/4.0b13pre openinfocard

The openinfocard addon needs java.net.URLClassLoader. It works in 3.6.13 but not in 4.0b13.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install the openinfocard addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/developers/addon/openinfocard-identity-selector/versions/
2. Visit https://xmldap.org/relyingparty
3. Click on the dog image
4. The selector start but has no cards
5. Look at the Error Console and search for
"TokenIssuer.initialize threw java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.xmldap.firefox.URLSetPolicy"
Actual Results:
TokenIssuer.initialize threw java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.xmldap.firefox.URLSetPolicy

Expected Results:
no exception thrown

calling the code in the Error Console "code"-field does not work because that yields in a permission error.

The java version is 1.6u23.

Sounds more like a bug in the addon than Firefox, but either way, it may be helpful to find the regression range:
http://harthur.github.com/mozregression/
(use the --addons= syntax to expedite testing with that addon)

The exactly same xpi e.g.
 https://code.google.com/p/openinfocard/downloads/detail?name=xmldap-0.9.9.201102241227.xpi&can=2&q=
works on 3.6.13 but throws the exception on 4.0b13.

I am quite sure that this bug is NOT in the extension.

Reporter, please can you confirm whether this issue still occurs using Firefox 4.0.1 (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/new/) or higher, in Firefox safe mode (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode) and/or with a clean profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile). Ideally, also check using the latest nightly: http://nightly.mozilla.org/

If this issue no longer occurs, please close as "Resolved Worksforme".

It it in fact still occurs, please provide as much extra information as possible, including what versions tried, whether safe mode/new profile tested etc. Thanks! :-)

(Template reply to inactive UNCO bugs; also setting closemedate for 2 weeks time, given lack of activity).
