Not sure what the problem is but it's 100% reproducible. * Go to http://intranet.mozilla.org (or any basic auth site). Let the basic auth dialog appear. * Enter a user name. It doesn't even need to be right * Tap the password field. You'll see the password field auto-filled with whatever you entered into the username field

I can't reproduce this in desktop Linux Fennec.
Elevating priority until we figure out what's happening. We shouldn't ship with this problem

This only seems to happen if the text in the username field is not committed (a suggestion). If I make sure the Android suggestion bar is closed, and tap on the password field - I don't see any problem. Also, no problem if I use the VKB "next" button to move from username to password fields.
