Not sure what the problem is but it's 100% reproducible.
* Go to http://intranet.mozilla.org (or any basic auth site). Let the basic auth dialog appear.
* Enter a user name. It doesn't even need to be right
* Tap the password field.
You'll see the password field auto-filled with whatever you entered into the username field

I can't reproduce this in desktop Linux Fennec.

This only seems to happen if the text in the username field is not committed (a suggestion). If I make sure the Android suggestion bar is closed, and tap on the password field - I don't see any problem. Also, no problem if I use the VKB "next" button to move from username to password fields.
