On build 2000122321 this page as not readable. The page is reloaded over and
over again (or rather re-rendered) with the effect that the page is flashing.
It also seems like it is re-rendering faster if I move the mouse around. If I
don't do that I can see the page in 2 seconds and then it re-renders for a
second and I can read yet another 2 seconds. If I move the mouse around it goes
faster.
Two weeks ago this page was displayed perfectly. So it's something that have
happend the list weeks. I don't know what component to select for this bug but I
guess that it has something to do with layout.

Linux-only bug then? Still worksforme build 2000122320 win95. Anyone on mac can
reproduce?
i see the same thing on linux sea 2000122406.
If you maximize the window at 1280x1024 while loading the page, it's must easyer
to see what this bug is really about. Also: after loading; if you scroll the
offending area out of sight and then scroll up again - in effect re-rendering it
- the blinking stops.
A similar add further down the page has a similar problem, but the blinking
there is only local, to the left of the image.
Here is another example where the pictures and menu on the right hand side is
beening re-layouted every now and then. Here it is not re-rendered but the
animations moves around instead. Forst it looks well aligned and then the right
hand side is moved upp and 5 centimeters to the right. Then a couple of seconds
later it moves back...

This is a newspaper so it changes every now ant then. But the right hand side
menu is always there so it probably be like this in the future too.
looks like a linux only bug.
I just tried it with the versions from the 9th of january 2001, and the windows
version worked fine, while the linux version shows the problems mentioned in
this bug!

I just tried several older nightlies. It was not in the linux build of
2000121904, but it is in the linux build 2000121921. So the bug was introduced
between these 2 builds.
Is someone able to find the guilty piece of code??

CC'ing three people who checked in that day at those hours.
If anyone wants to take a shot, all checkins on 19th december between 4 and 21
are listed here

I'm innocent! (all code I checked in was directly backed out) ;-)
Anyway, adding mscott too as he did redirect changes in the uriloader at 14:07.
That's a part of the browser that I think may very well cause things like this
even though I don't have a clue how. That was checked in as a fix to bug 59827.

this bug is fixed in the 2001011221 build :-)
Since I am probably not intended to mark it so, can someone from QA please do this?

Can anyone confirm plz. We should still find which checkin caused this regression.

fabian:
it was probably karnaze's checkin, who also fixed this bug :-)
for me both pages (tomshardware and gp.se) do work fine, but since I wrote the
message some above, please ask someone else (tuesdays bugday?) to confirm :-)

used to see this bug but on Linux build 2001011306 tomshardware again loads
fine, and remains so after loading. No more blinking pages. It's fixed, whatever
fixed it.

Marking fixed, probably by Karnaze's checkin.
