I still get the same type of artifacts as bug 631848 when doing some things like loading a page, undo close tab, or changing tabs while loading and others.

Also, openning a link from another application in a background Firefox window.

I get a colored box around the status panel as well. Additionally, I get other artifacts seemingly randomly scattered over the page (only on some websites though; see screenshot for an example). They appeared the same time the artifact around the status panel appeared (i.e. when the status panel landed). I don't know why it causes this though. Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks for the screenshot. What are the steps to reproduce that exactly (include what URL to load and any other actions needed)?

The steps to reproduce are: 1) Open http://www.mangafox.com/manga/a_channel/# (and wait until it finished loading) 2) Right click on a chapter -> Open Link in New Tab 3) Switch as fast as possible to the new tab Usually the artifacts are now visible for a split second. (*) If not: 4a) Close the tab => Undo Close Tab => switch to the restored tab as fast as possible or: 4b) try another chapter (**) While trying around with another profile I noticed that I always get the artifact around the status panel, but the other random artifacts only in one profile (of two I tried it with). ----- (*) How long the artifacts are visible probably depends on how long it takes for the site to load, i.e. how fast your internet connection is and how fast the server reacts. (**) The reason is that it seems to be impossible or much more difficult to reproduce if the page is in the cache. An alternative to choosing another chapter is therefore to clear your cache.

OK, I found out that the additional seemingly random artifacts are only visible if DownloadHelper 4.8.6 is installed. All other steps to reproduce remain the same.

This bug has been low priority for me because it doesn't seem like a lot of people notice this artifact (it annoys me quite a bit though).

(In reply to Timothy Nikkel (:tn) from comment #9) > This bug has been low priority for me because it doesn't seem like a lot of > people notice this artifact (it annoys me quite a bit though). ...they notice it but 99% of the users don't know how to report the issue :)

...or are too busy to do it.

I confirm this , it happens even to current nightlies. I know it is again a "cosmetic" issue but is annoying !!
