Hi All!

We are running a project on trust management and
on improving the Web browser user interface
regarding security. Presently we try to implement
a demo with a modified browser but it's really
hard to find out how best to do it, and we
wonder wether anyone can give us some advise.

We believe company logos should be part of Web server certificates so
that this certified logo can be
diplayed by the browser whenever accessing a secure
cite. We have SW to generate X.509 certificates
containing images (i.e. logos) but we don't know how
to hook into the browser to extract the image and
display it.

The options are:

1) Use hooks made available by Microsoft and Netscape
(and others) for application development.

2) Modify the source code of some open source browser
such as Mozilla.

Does anybody know how to do this or has anybody
done something similar?

Cheers
Ajaynath

WONTFIXing, since having images in certs just seems like a way to add more bloat to certs and introduce more attack surface for little benefit.
