I'm experiencing the same CPU spike activity that I did in FF 4.0b9-11:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2119745&start=0
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Use SeaMonkey normally
2.A CPU spike will show up randomly
3.Closing SeaMonkey is the only way to clear the spike
Expected Results:
No CPU spiking.

This may be linked to the FF Spikes I experienced:

Tim, if it is resolved for you with FF4.0b12, then it's probably fixed with the latest SeaMonkey 2.1b3pre nightlies. Could you try a trunk build from:

Hi Philip,
I just installed SM 2.1b3pre. It may take a while to see if the problem is resolved as the CPU spikes are quite and random. If after a week or so, I don't get any spikes, I'll report back as resolved.

I've used SM 2.1b3pre for a solid week without any CPU spike problems. I'm considering this bug report fixed.
