We have some users of our custom web application who have run into this problem only with the Firefox 4.0 beta software. They type in some text: 'Melisa" and they get displayed in the text field "Mmeelliisaa". And yes, for some reason there is only one letter "s". 

Reproducible: Always



Expected Results:  
It should have just showed a letter for each letter typed.

Could you see if the issue occurs with a new, empty profile:

Also, the exact version of the beta (as given by the page about:support) is really needed.

Bill, which beta are you using?  I think one of the earlier betas had
the problem you describe but it should be fixed in beta 12.
Please try it and report back.  Testing a nightly build as Ed suggested
should also work.  Thanks.
