I've taken to adding a few bookmarks to my desktop for common "webapps" that I use. Clicking them causes us to open a new tab with the page open. I'd actually rather that clicking them just switched to the open tab if its already open. Ideally (for me at least) this would work even if the url being opened didn't exactly match the url I have open (i.e. espn.com redirecting to espn.go.com).
FYI, this will be the behavior you'll get with the webapps support (except for the redirecting part).
