Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Run two instances of FF using two profiles and then open the library window in each. In one of the windows copy a bookmark folder. Switch to the library window in the other instance and paste the folder into a selected location. This works on Win. This does not work on Mac. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch FF using profile A 2. Launch a 2nd instance of FF using profile B using the -no-remote switch 3. Open the Library window in FF using profile A 4. Open the Library window in FF using profile B 5. Select a bookmark folder on the toolbar in the Library window using profile A and copy 6. Establish focus in the Library window using profile B and paste 7. Using FF on Win this works 8. Using FF on Mac this does not work Expected Results: I would expect this to work on Mac in the same way it works on Win. Perhaps this is something that cannot be done on Mac?
Summary: Copy of bookmark directory in library window work on Win but not Mac → Copy of bookmark directory in library window works on Win but not Mac
maybe the format of the clipboard differs, and we are not doing a good conversion on Mac. Confirming for investigation.

Bug 1177654 is about the fact that we can't currently copy folders between Firefox instances. I think we can forward mark this as a dupe of that one. If this was or wasn't an issue before, bug 1177654 is the one that tracks it now.
