http://www.google.com/ hangs client window, and never finishes loading even after 5 hours. It locks up so well that all buttons stop working, but the window frame can be resized and the minimize/maximize buttons do still work. Additionally, I have found this to also happen when I got to www.yahoo.com on two occasions. At first I thought it might be the AddOn Search Preview, but after disabling and restarting, it still occurs. I have tried doing a search from the search box as well and get the same result(s). So far, those are the only two sites that cause this to happen. Oh, and the page content itself appears to be completely displayed/rendered when this happens.
It seems like you would have tested these two very high profile sites before, so I guess it could be something unique to my system, but I cannot think of what.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to http://www.google.com/
2.
3.

That sounds really weird... are there any sites at all which loads in your Firefox? What about Explorer - can it connect to google and yahoo?
I can assure you that all releases of Firefox has been tested quite heavily by a large number of people and by several hundred-thousand automatic tests on all supported platforms, so there is probably something going on in your environment... Do you use some firewall-product? Or maybe a proxy?

Btw, you may also try http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
I agree, it's weird to me too. I figured it was tested. But, here's what I can tell you. I have gotten FF4 to work with all other sites I have tried, and both of those sites work fine with IE8 & FireFox 3.6.15 without incident. No proxy for me. I do have the Windows 7 Firewall turned on is all.
Oh, one more detail I didn't think to mention. The window with that tab totally hangs and the mouse pointer goes to the rotating circle, but any other window for FF4 seems to be OK. If I open a tab in a good window and then go to google, same things happens to that window then.
I ended up having to just kill Firefox as by the time I got done, all three of my windows for FF4 were locked. Interesting, when I restarted FF4, all tabs were restored and all windows were "locked up" for lack of a better description. The problem is I could not get to any menus.
I will try out safemode tonight or tomorrow and try to get back to you on that...
