User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13 Hello. I have a Mac running OS X version 10.6.6 and I can't load the new update. When I click on the button from the notice I receive, it goes into a never ending downloading phase but never downloads. I end up having to close Firefox to force quit it. I have also tried downloading it directly from your website and the same thing happens. If you could please email me back with a link that the software will download successfully from, that would be great. thank you!! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. try to load the new update 2. 3. Expected Results: it should have automatically loaded up the new version of Firefox onto my laptop

note: with both the update download and regular download this is most likely a network or mirror bug and not an application update bug. Tyler, could you try to triage this?
Reporter, are you still having problems downloading and / or updating.
i have the same problem -- (Mac OS X 10.5.8). the update Firefox message appears, i click on it, but it never connects to the update server. i tried downloading Firefox 4 from the website, that didn't work either. also -- i have Firefox in my Mac tool bar. if i haven't opened Firefox yet and click on a link in my email, for instance, a second Firefox symbol appears on the tool bar at the same time. then i get a message i can have only one at a time. that would be fine with me.
Same as Laura only running Mac OS X 10.6.7
Just tried to install update and getting same problem still. The update message from Firefox is received, but when I try to connect to the server to get the update, it never connects. I have also tried to going directly to Firefox site for update and same thing still happens.
mrz, several people are reporting not being able to update via app update and these same people also report not being able to download the Mac dmg. If they are unable to download the dmg then chances are app update would also be busted. Any idea what might be going on?
Anyone know which download mirror they are using?
I don't even know what a download mirror is, let alone which one I am using. sorry.
(In reply to comment #9) > I don't even know what a download mirror is, let alone which one I am using. > sorry. I believe the following should work. In preferences, select "Always ask where to save files". Then try to download the installer and make a note of the from url. Then post this info in the bug.
And after you make a note of the url please attempt to download it so we can be sure that you still experience the problem. Thanks
made the change to preferences suggested. download came from "http://mirror.netcologne.de". Was able to successfully download update after that. thanks everyone!!
Chances are there is a mirror out there that is causing the problem. Since the reporter is no longer experiencing the problem I am resolving this a wfm... there are a couple of other reports where we might find the mirror. If this happens to you again, please follow the steps again and if you are unable to download either reopen this bug or open a new bug with the url to the mirror that you were unable to download from. Thanks

update repeatedly requests loading. click ok and it goes into an infinite loop. must be connecting with server since it doesn't time out. have not noticed any other residual effects. using macbook with 10.6.7 OS.
Randaii, the reporter of this bug is no longer experiencing the problem so please file a new bug.
