I just started using Fennec (4.0b5) and I was having trouble closing tabs using the tab bar on the left. At first I thought my taps were being lost/dropped since I'd have to tap a couple of times before it worked. After I focused on the problem and tried variations, I realized I was tapping too far on the left of the 'x' circle for the tap to be recognized. Once I realized this and started tapping more to the right I got 100% sucess. Perhaps we could make the click-rectangle for the 'x' extend all the way to the edge of the touchable screen so that the original way I was tapping would have worked 100%? I think this would decrease the barrier to new users. Since my initial impression was "Fennec is probably being laggy and dropping my input", this may also curb some accusations of lagginess.
Can you please stop by the QA area and show it to us in person?
Luke showed it to Thomas and I and he's using his left-hand to close the tab. With this setup, he ends up with half of his finger off of the screen which makes it difficult to close the tab for the following reasons: 1. The finger may be pressed down on the wrong side of the screen 2. There is an empty space between the edge of the screen and the tab close button. Madhava, is there a way to make this experience a little easier for left-handed users?
