Currently the primary reason for this is to pick up bug 449453 so that FreeBSD/OpenBSD can compile Thunderbird easily.
Can this get into 3.3, or it's already too late ?
We'll still be able to take it, I'm currently waiting till the next release in case there's anything extra that comes along (as it involves tagging and a few other things).

I took a look at this today. Nothing significant code-wise has landed, just a few build config changes. I did say I would pull in the OpenBSD changes, so I've tagged a minor change, 6.0.7A, which we can pull in these changesets (that aren't on the branch): http://hg.mozilla.org/projects/ldap-sdks/pushloghtml?fromchange=80feddb8a404&tochange=2f4416adb8e7
