While using a CSS transform/transition to scale images up some unusual borders flicker son the sides of the image. They appear while image is getting larger but disappear when the transition is complete.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hover over images in main content section of page
2. Does not occur unless entire image is on screen, including a CSS triggered tooltip. If the space that contains the tooltip is off the screen borders do not appear
3.
Actual Results:  
Borders appeared

Expected Results:  
There should be no extra borders rendering in between images
