How about an additional tab for general note taking - nothing fancy but useful. Maybe something like 3 columns:

-books list
-notes list
-note viewing pane

I really doubt we'd do something like this specifically in the address book, especially as each card already have their own notes fields.

Therefore marking as duplicate of the main notes bug - bug 116945.

If someone wants to try out an extra tab/column in Address Book for notes, I'd suggest trying that in an extension.
