The correct behavior would be to format all of the selected text. As an example of why this would be useful, I was using this to select all of my inline replies to another email, to change them to another color. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Type in some text in to the body of an email. 2. Hold down Ctrl. 3. Use the mouse to select two non-adjacent words in the email body text. Because you are holding down Ctrl, they both are highlighted. 4. Adjust the formatting: either hit Ctrl-B for bold, or do Format->Text Color, etc. Actual Results: Only the word you selected second will have this formatting applied to it. Expected Results: Both selected words would have the formatting applied to them.
Are you sure the second selected word is formatted? For me only the first word is formatted, which is bug 485638
You are correct, sir. Marking as dupe.
