Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/20110303 Firefox/3.6.15 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/20110303 Firefox/3.6.15 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Search suggestions appear in the leftmost monitor that displays part of the Firefox browser window, even if that isn't the monitor that the search bar is on.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Setup: You need two monitors to see this bug. I have monitor A (my secondary) on the left and monitor B (my primary) on the right.
1. Open a Firefox window in regular moveable window mode.
2. Stretch the window to be wide, but it doesn't have to be wider than one monitor.
3. Move the window so it's almost completely on the right screen, with as little as 1 pixel column of content area displayed on the left screen.
4. Select Google as the quick search option in the toolbar search.
5. Type a search query into that field, for example "mozilla" or "1+1="
Actual Results:
A menu of instant search suggestions (or the results of a calculation) are shown on the right edge of the LEFT monitor, which is very far away from the search bar where you're typing the query in, and not part of your field of view.

Expected Results:
The search suggestions should appear directly below the search box, regardless of which screen(s) the search box is on.
This is related to, but not the same as, Bug 627197, about the placement of search suggestions.
This has been fixed in Firefox 4 by bug 575328.
