Open Safari. Visit a site with a file chooser -- e.g., tineye.com. Drag a proxy icon from Preview, or a file from the Finder, to the "Choose file" button. File will be selected in the file chooser without opening a dialog. Try it in Firefox... and the page visits the file instead. Filing this as a p-safari issue, because it sure is convenient -- opening the chooser popup is a mild annoyance, and can also prompt disks to spin up, network disk activity, etc.
