As it turns out, there are some new strings that were introduced during the 2.0 release cycle (for Firefox 4).

The following locales need to update:

ar, cs, da, de, el-GR, es-ES, fa, fr, fy-NL, he, hu, id, it, nl, pt-BR, pt-PT, ro, ru, sl, sq, sv-Se, uk, vi, zh-CN

I've checked in English placeholders for now. There are 6 strings in total, across 2 files. You can see them at:

Hi, I was just doing the German translation, but ran into trouble.

I don’t understand the meaning of the string „%1$S is installing %2$S“? Could you please tell me/us, what these variables mean?

It means:

Application is installing add-on

e.g.

Firefox is installing Ad Block Plus

I don't think this string is actually used any more though. It was in an early iteration for Firefox 4, but then we refactored.

Hi, could you please tell me where to find the new strings for German? I’m still looking at <http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/addons/trunk/bandwagon/chrome/locale/de/> and the last updates were several months ago. There are no unlocalized strings in these files, though.

I've tried to make localisers aware of updates for a while, and there has been decent uptake. Not all locales are done, but they can be caught in future updates. We've taken care to add English placeholders so as to not break any functionality.
